I made my first Tessuti Eva Dress a few years ago and I had a bit of a Scarlett O’Hara moment when I was looking for something to use for a toile. There were no green velvet drapes to cut up but there was a tablecloth sewn with Ikea fabric that I was willing to sacrifice to try out a new pattern.
It was a good fit and I liked the extra room the cut of the dress allowed around my hips and thighs. I am high waisted so it sits it a nice spot for me and the pieced skirt allows structure to sit out off my tummy and hips.
My next version was from some linen and I have worn this dress so many times for work. It was a great colour that wasn’t transparent for school, great pockets and easy to move around in.
The Eva was so perfect for work that I made another for a bit of variety.
This was my last version. While I loved the pattern and the way it came together it is a little snug around my chest now. I was set to do a FBA or redraft the top when Tessuti increased their size range for this pattern. It’s typical when a business does this to email you the updated sizes or make them available for you to download. Instead of redrafting myself I emailed Tessuti asking for an updated version of the one I had purchased to print the next size up. I didn’t get a reply. I was disappointed that not only was the next size wasn’t made available but I didn’t get a reply, so I haven’t made one since.
